Effect of water sprinkling on production performance and physiological functions of lactating buffaloes

Pakistan Journal of Agricultural Sciences 13(1): 53-58

5 matched groups of 4 buffaloes were subjected to 5 different water-sprinkling schedules at the University of Agriculture, Lyallpur during a 3-wk period in June 1972. The animals were splashed with water 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6X daily (at 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2-h intervals respectively) between 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Ambient temp. during the day ranged from 84 to 117 deg F with average RH of 40%.
