Effect of watering on the uptake of tritium in plants

In studies with potted Tabernaemontana divaricata plants the effects were compared of a single soil application of tritiated water, followed or not by watering daily for 24 days, on the elimination rate of tissue free water tritium (TFWT) in the leaves and flowers and tissue bound tritium (TBT) in the leaves. In watered and non-watered plants the release of TFWT decreased exponentially after the initial peak uptake.
