Effect of weather conditions on accumulation of fatty acids in sunflower seeds

Effect of weather conditions on accumulation of fatty acids in sunflower seeds

Byulleten' Nauchno tekhnicheskoi Informatsii po Maslichnym Kul' turam (1): 48-50

In trials with sunflower Peredovik A-41 sown on 20 Apr. (optimum date) or 20 May in Krasnodar region, high temperature during the flowering period disrupted physiological and biochemical processes in the ripening seeds, which resulted in higher accumulation of linoleic acid than of oleic acid in the seeds.
