Effect of wood density on preservative retention in fence posts

Effect of wood density on preservative retention in fence posts

New Zealand Journal of Forestry Science 5(1): 105-109

Reports a survey of the basic wood density of the preservative-retention zone in Pinus radiata posts throughout New Zealand. The density was very variable, increasing from 372 kg/m3 in S. Island to 427 kg/m3 in Northland. As mean basic density increases, preservative retention decreases.
