Effect on feeding of cutting the sensory nerves of the peribuccal region of the nymph of Locusta

Journal of Insect Physiology 22(1): 9-18

Nerves of nymphs of Locusta to the labrum, mandible and hypopharynx were cut. Each of these operations deprived the whole organ of sensory nerves without affecting the motor function. In other experiments palps, antennae and galeae were removed.
