Effective protection for processed agricultural commodities: a comparison of industrial countries



Journal of Economics and Business 29(1): 31-39



This article estimates the effective rate of protection imposed on agricultural products by the European Economic Community, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and the United States. It also represents a first attempt to evaluate systematically the magnitude of the trade restraints associated with the Common Agricultural Policy of the EEC.
