Effectiveness and persistence of systemic fungicides in controlling Erysiphe graminis tritici

In 3 glasshouse trials, 9 systemic fungicides were sprayed on the leaves of wheat IAS54, which is highly susceptible to Erysiphe graminis. Of the preparations tested, triadimefon was best in that it controlled the fungus with 1 application during a period of 80 days, and gave the highest grain yield (60-70% higher than that of the control). In glasshouse trials of 9 fungicides on wheat triadimefon gave complete control for 80 days with 1 leaf spray.
