The poor soil hydrologic regime in this lowland requires improvement practices. The effectiveness of profiled ridges, closed drainage, or a combination for tea growing was determined. Long-term observations showed that the highest tea-leaf yield was obtained with a combination of profiled ridges and closed drainage with a distance of 5 and 10 m between drains.
