On the assumption that C. japonica plantations of similar mean height are at the same stage of growth, equivalent-height curves for the stand-density/mean-stem-volume relation have been expressed by the equation v = 1/(Ap + B) (where v = mean stem volume, rho = stand density and A and B are constants), this reciprocal equation being determined statistically from all sample stands.
