Effects of dates of sowing and rates and times of N application on the grain yield and malting and brewing quality of 2-row barley

Effects of dates of sowing and rates and times of N application on the grain yield and malting and brewing quality of 2-row barley

Indian Journal of Agronomy 20(2): 158-161

In trials in the winter seasons of 1971-3 with 2-row barley (Hordeum distichum) sown on several dates between 7 Nov. and 15 Dec. and given 30-90 kg N/ha at sowing or in 2 split dressings at sowing and with 1st irrigation, sowing by the 3rd week of Nov. with 30 kg N/ha applied at sowing was the best treatment for high grain yields and desirable grain malting and brewing qualities.
