Effects of temperature and daylength on the growth of Dallis grass (Paspalum dilatatum Poir.) and Bahia grass (Paspalum notatum Flugge)

In growth chamber experiments, P. dilatatum and P. notatum were grown in 8-h photoperiods and at intervals of 10 days were transferred to a temperature 5 deg C higher or lower to give regimes of 10 deg 'right arrow' 15 deg 'right arrow' 20 deg , 25 deg 'right arrow' 30 deg 'right arrow' 35 deg , 35 deg 'right arrow' 30 deg 'right arrow' 25 deg or 20 deg 'right arrow' 15 deg 'right arrow' 10 deg. Tiller and root numbers increased as temperature increased from 15 to 20 deg.
