Buffaloes were fed on diets containing 6% rice-bran oil, cottonseed oil or coconut oil to provide different amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. All the oil supplements caused an increase in serum cholesterol; rice-bran oil and cottonseed oil gave significantly lower values than coconut oil.
