Estimation of sire's breeding value. III. An iterative procedure for estimation of linear parameters and heteroscedastic variances simultaneously

Estimation of sire's breeding value. III. An iterative procedure for estimation of linear parameters and heteroscedastic variances simultaneously

Zeitschrift fur Tierzuchtung und Zuchtungsbiologie 92(1/2): 10-16

In Pt. 2, a method is described for estimating genetic parameters in a crossbreeding scheme in which animals of an indigenous breed are inseminated with semen from bulls in another country, and in which the indigenous cow population is divided into several subpopulations. Differentiation of subpopulations by selection may lead to unequal variances for records of different subpopulations or data sets.
