Factors responsible for different levels of protein accumulation in grains of wheat cultivars with high and low protein contents

Factors responsible for different levels of protein accumulation in grains of wheat cultivars with high and low protein contents

Fiziologiya Rastenii 21(2): 329-335

The main factors responsible for higher grain protein contents in some wheat cultivars than in others were the amounts of N substances in vegetative parts and their weight in relation to grain weight, the high N-attracting ability of the developing caryopsis, and the rapid incorporation of N into the caryopsis proteins.
