Gene action of heading date, plant height, and other characters in two winter wheat crosses



Crop Science 16(2): 275-277



An unweighted least squares procedure was adopted to analyse means of parents, F1 and first-generation back crosses from each cross. Only additive gene effects were significant for height, tiller number per unit area and grain weight, indicating that these characters could be improved by selection in early generations.
