Test crosses between HA61, resistant to Plasmopara halstedii, and line P21 of Peredovik which is highly susceptible, indicated that, with the exception of one F2 family, in which a segregation ratio of 15 resistant to 1 susceptible was observed, the majority of the families had a segregation ratio which suggested that a single dominant gene controls resistance in HA61 to the race of the fungus existing in southern Spain.
