Genetic study on the resistance of blast disease in the rice variety Tongil (II)

Tongil was crossed with 5 local cvs. and the progenies tested with isolates E-7 and 100-14 of Pyricularia oryzae by the injection inoculation method. Results indicated that a single dominant gene conditioned resistance of Tongil and resistance to isolate E-7 was controlled by a different gene from that controlling resistance to 100-14. In the previous study it was shown that the gene controlling resistance to E-7 differed from that governing resistance to P. oryzae isolate T-1.
