Grain quality in wheat obtained by hybridizing winter with spring forms

Stable spring lines with good yield and grain quality were selected from hybrid populations obtained by crossing the winter wheats Bezostaya 1 Mironovka 808 and Rannyaya 12 ( female ) with the spring variety Vardenik 9. Vitreousness was higher in all the lines than in the winter varieties. The lines Erinaceum 28 and Lutescens 353 equalled Vardenik 9 in sedimentation value. Most of the lines contained 1.2-8% more gluten than the better parent.
