Growth and digestibility of the ration (milk, concentrate and hay) by Friesian calves before and after weaning

Growth and digestibility of the ration (milk, concentrate and hay) by Friesian calves before and after weaning

Anales Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agrarias, Produccion Animal (5): 73-81

The previous study (NAR 45, 8337) showed that 200 litres artificial milk was the best amount for Spanish Friesian calves. From 8 days old 4 groups of 4 Spanish Friesian calves were given 200 litres in 28, 35, 49 or 63 days. From the second week all calves had free access to a starting concentrate and lucerne hay to 63 days then the concentrate was changed to a grower's diet.
