Growth and nutrient utilization by kids fed milk replacers containing isolated soybean protein as the sole source of protein

Growth and nutrient utilization by kids fed milk replacers containing isolated soybean protein as the sole source of protein

Japanese Journal of Zootechnical Science 48(7): 361-370

In 3 experiments, each with groups of 4 kids, cow's milk was given to 4 days old. Control kids remained on milk for 4 weeks and experimental groups were changed during 3 days, to a feed with isolated soya protein 29, butterfat 22 and lactose 39%, alone or with different supplements. In the first experiment gain on the soya diet was 73% that on milk and supplement of vitamin mixture, trace elements or chlortetracycline had no significant effect on gain or retention of N.
