Different fruit:leaf ratios gave different yields. Fruit weight and volume were positively correlated with the leaf area/fruit. Total yield, however, depended mainly on the number of fruits/cluster. A fruit:leaf ratio of 1:3 gave uniform fruits. However, the greater the leaf area/fruit, the more fruits with greenish locular tissue occurred. The seeds in this tissue germinated less well than those from red tissue.
