Histochemical localization of alkaline phosphatase in the trematode Paramphistomum cervi (Paramphistomidae)

Histochemical localization of alkaline phosphatase in the trematode Paramphistomum cervi (Paramphistomidae)

Indian Journal of Experimental Biology 14(4): 505-506

Strong reactions for alkaline phosphatase in Paramphistomum cervi sections were observed in the body-wall, caecum and uterus containing eggs. Weak to moderate activity was detected in other organs of the body. It is suggested that the body-wall and caecum are actively involved in the absorption of nutrients.
