Histology of Meloidogyne javanica infection in tomato

Histology of Meloidogyne javanica infection in tomato

Haryana Journal of Horticultural Sciences 2(3/4): 142-146

The entry of Meloidogyne javanica into roots, their feeding and maturation and the formation of synctyia and galls are described from histological study of sections of infected tomato roots. Infection by a single larva resulted in galling. Adult females laid eggs inside the roots. It is concluded that tomato is a suitable host for M. javanica.
