Hook worm infection and body composition of mice



Indian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics 14(4): 92-99



Mice were infected orally with 0, 100, 200 or 400 larvae of Nematospiroides dubius and fed on a 10 or 20% casein diet for the next 14 to 48 days. After this period the carcass protein and fat contents were lower and the moisture content was higher in infected mice than in uninfected controls. These changes were greatest in the mice given the most larvae and fed on the diet with the least protein.
