Hormonal induction of multiple births: the main consequences for breeding performance

Hormonal induction of multiple births: the main consequences for breeding performance

Annales de Zootechnie 25(1): 79-94

171 and 85 French Friesian cows were given 1400 IU (group 1) and 1100 IU (group 2) of PMSG resp. They were injected on day 16 of their 1st or 2nd oestrous cycle post partum. At the onset of induced oestrus, cows were injected with 1500 IU of HCG and inseminated with Aquitaine Blond semen. Cows were inseminated twice with a 12-h interval between inseminations. The CRs were 45.2 and 66.2% for the 2 groups resp.
