Twenty-six healthy 6-month-old calves were injected s/c with 5 ml of a commercial trivalent (O, A and C) vaccine, hydroxy-saponin type. All calves were challenged intradermolingually with 1 ml (in 4 places) of FMD virus, subtype O1, (infective dose 106.5/ml) at 21, 90, 120 and 180 days.
