Induced non-allelic and other dwarfs in local cultivars in rice breeding

Induced non-allelic and other dwarfs in local cultivars in rice breeding

3rd International Congress of the Society for the Advancement of Breeding Researches in Asia and Oceania SABRAO Plant Breeding Papers: 2-6 Rice breeding: 10-13

Data are presented showing that in five dwarf lines derived from Tellahamsa following grain treatment with 0.2-0.5% ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS), dwarfing is conditioned by single recessive genes which are nonallelic with each other or with the dwarfing gene from Ti-chio-wu-chien found in varieties such as IR8, Jaya and Sona.
