Influence of heat shocks on the somatic and genetic effects of gamma irradiation of dormant seeds of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh

Air-dried seeds were subjected to a heat shock of 100 deg C for 30 min before, after and both before and after treatment with gamma rays from 137Cs in various doses. A preradiational heat shock reduced the percentate of visible mutations in the M2, while a postradiational shock had no significant genetic effect.
