Influence of some systemic insecticides over the germination, growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench)

The five insecticides applied in Coimbatore against aphids on okra (Hibiscus (Abelmoschus) esculentus) (cf. preceding abstract) were found to have side-effects on the plants. Germination was slightly delayed, but the number of plants was normal at the end of the period. Leaf yellowing and scorching occurred in all the treated plots and were particularly marked on plants that had received aldicarb and carbofuran.
