Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is the most important aquatic weed species in Indonesia. Greenhouse experiments were conducted to study the interaction between different levels of nutrients (N, P and K) of Hoagland solution and light intensity on the growth of water hyacinth. Different levels of N, P and K gave non-significant effects on the increase of SGR (summed growth ratio), number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight. Light intensity was the most important factor.
