Investigations of problems regarding the wintering of cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon Ait.)

Experiments in growth chambers showed that twigs suffered lethal damage below about -18 deg C. Such damage, however, would be rare in the field and only occur above the protective snow cover. Covering with straw, foil or brushwood was also studied; foil was most effective.
