Investigations on possibility of reduction of potato cultivation measures. 2. Comparison of effectiveness of manual, mechanical and chemical weeding of potatoes

Investigations on possibility of reduction of potato cultivation measures. 2. Comparison of effectiveness of manual, mechanical and chemical weeding of potatoes

Roczniki Nauk Rolniczych, A 102(3): 57-69

In field trials in Poland in 1964-6, potato Epoka (medium-late) was either hand-weeded, treated pre-em. with 1.25 kg ametryne a.i./ha or weeded by mechanical methods; combinations of these treatments were also examined. In treatments in which weed control was achieved by other methods, mechanical cultivation measures did not result in an increase in tuber yield.
