Laboratory and field experiments on the toxicity of various insecticides to grasshoppers, Melanoplus sanguinipes and Camnula pellucida (Orthoptera:Acrididae)

Laboratory and field experiments on the toxicity of various insecticides to grasshoppers, Melanoplus sanguinipes and Camnula pellucida (Orthoptera:Acrididae)

Canadian Entolmologist 107(5): 543-546

The toxicity of carbofuran, chlorpyrifos, methidathion and dimethoate to grasshoppers was tested in laboratory and field experiments in Saskatchewan. The laboratory tests were carried out with second-instar nymphs of Melanoplus sanguinipes (F.) to which the insecticides were applied as sprays or which were confined on wheat seedlings that had previously been sprayed with the insecticides.
