Laboratory studies on the nuclear polyhedrosis of red-hairy caterpillar of groundnut Amsacta albistriga (Walker)

The effectiveness of sprays of the nuclear polyhedrosis virus of Amsacta albistriga (Wlk.) applied at various concentrations for the control of larvae of the pest on groundnut was determined in laboratory tests in India. The pathogen was found to be highly infective, a concentration of 108 PIB's (polyhedral inclusion bodies)/ml producing total mortality of 86.4%.
