Abstract
The microbiological procedures prescribed apply to evaporated or condensed milk (whole or skim), flavoured milk and cream packaged in sealed metal containers, but not canned butter, anhydrous milk fat, cheese, dried dairy products and sweetened condensed milks. The standard deals with sampling equipment, preliminary examination of unopened retail cans, methods of opening cans, and tests for the test sample and the remainder in can.
