Microbial contamination of cows' milk by the udder skin

Microbial contamination of cows' milk by the udder skin

XX International Dairy Congress, Vol E: 89-90

Milk from cows with non-washed udders, when these seemed clean, had a lower total microbial count and thermoduric count than did milk from cows with rapidly washed udders. However, non-washed udders, even those apparently clean, contaminated milk with sporeformers to a greater extent than did carefully or rapidly washed udders.
