[Cf. FA 37, 2780] Of the 23 species isolated, most belonged to Tripospermum, Aureobasidium, Dendrodochium and Polyscytalina. In winter the qualitative composition of the microflora changes. The evolution of the microflora over the lifetime of the needles (9 years) was studied. Certain species disappeared with the death of the needles, while primary saprophytes, some already present on the living needles, began to develop.
