Assessments of the duration of the mitotic cycle in Vicia faba, using caffeine, colchicine and chloral hydrate, in minimum effective concentrations, as mitotic indicators, varied little around 12 h, irrespective of the indicator used, though some prolongation of the second and subsequent cycles occurred with chloral hydrate.
