Increased frequency of the contractions of the various sections of the rumino-reticulum and of eructation are reported during the ingestion of food. Rumination leads to rather less stimulation of mobility and eructation. The lowest motor activity and frequency of eructation occurred during rest periods when the animals were lying down and apparently sleeping.
