New possibilities of Phytophthora cinnamomi control on ornamental shrubs in containers with aluminium tri-o-ethyl phosphonate

New possibilities of Phytophthora cinnamomi control on ornamental shrubs in containers with aluminium tri-o-ethyl phosphonate

Horticulture Francaise 91: 7-14

Good control of Phytophthora cinnamomi on Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Elwoodii, Rhododendron catawbiense, Erica gracilis and E. hiemalis was obtained with aluminium tri-o-ethyl phosphonate (aluminium ethylphosphite) applied as a spray, by watering or substrate-incorporated, in several trials in the laboratory, greenhouse and nursery. Watering at 4 g/m2 at 30-day intervals proved satisfactory. Spraying at 400 g/hl every 15 days also proved satisfactory but requires further trials.
