The Limousin region, and especially the Plateau de Millevaches, is an important afforestation area. Notes are given, with maps and diagrams, on the climate, vegetation, geology, and soils. The available data on growth and production of Spruce and Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) are analysed in terms of the influence of altitude, topography and aspect.
