Observations on the course of infestation and the species composition of aphids in large potato plantings

Observations on the course of infestation and the species composition of aphids in large potato plantings

Nachrichtenblatt fur den Pflanzenschutz in der DDR 31(1): 11-14

The control of the aphid vectors of virus diseases of potato in large plantings in the German Democratic Republic requires knowledge of the course of the infestation and the species concerned. These two points were investigated in the Halle district in May-August 1973 and 1974 by means of weekly or fortnightly counts on groups of plants in the field. Infestation was heavy in 1973 and the aphids became rapidly distributed over the whole potato area.
