On the determination of diameter of crown root primordia in rice plants

On the determination of diameter of crown root primordia in rice plants

Japanese Journal of Crop Science 46(3): 423-430

The diam. of basal root primordia in rice increased rapidly between the developmental stages 8 and 12 due to increase in cortex thickness. This was based on increases in number or cortical cell layers between stages 8 and 10 and between stages 10 and 12, due to increase in radial diam. of cortical cells.
