Performance of purebred and crossbred dairy cattle in Thailand



Animal Production 21(3): 209-216



A crossbreeding programme involving imported Danish Red (DR) bulls and heifers, native cattle (mainly White zebu originating from Burma), and improved Indian zebu breeds (Sahiwal and Red Sindhi) was carried out at the Thai-Danish Dairy Farm which is situated 15 deg N and 230 m above sea level (daily temp. are 19-30 deg C in the cool season and 26-33 deg C in the hot season).
