Faecal coliforms on lucerne irrigated with sewage lagoon effluent were completely destroyed by exposure to 10 hours bright sunlight. No decrease in numbers occurred under cool, damp, overcast conditions. Faecal coliforms in raw sewage were destroyed by exposure to 10 h bright sunlight.
