The two species of Dioryctria that infest pines in Cuba, D. horneana and D. clarioralis, are described and illustrated, and an account is given of the damage they cause. D. horneana attacks Pinus caribaea, P. cubensis and P. tropicalis both in western and eastern Cuba. Older shoots, the inner bark of stems, branches and cones are all affected, and injury to the stem is often sufficient to cause breakage in the upper part of the crown at the point of attack.
