For part 3 see NAR 45, 504.4. Aberdeen-Angus bullocks 10 months old in 6 groups of 3 were given 4 kg mature carpet grass hay (Axonopus affinis) with molasses, urea and minerals except P. They had no supplement or sodium dihydrogen orthophosphate to supply 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 g P daily in the morning feed. In the second experiment 5 groups of 3 got carpet grass hay or lucerne hay only or the hays in different proportions. Grab samples of faeces were taken at intervals after feeding.
