Physiological and biochemical studies of forms of maize with high protein and lysine contents



Biokhim issled v protsesse selektsii kukuruzy: 122-135



A study of the grain (endosperm, embryo, scutellum and testa) and vegetative organs (leaves, stems and roots) of high-protein and high-lysine forms during ontogeny revealed a predominance of free aminoacids in the opaque forms compared with normal forms. A high content of free auxins was found in the endosperm of the opaque forms at milk ripeness.
