Girls and boys attending a summer camp for juvenile diabetics received either a modified diabetic diet or ordinary diet. Cholesterol was limited to 300 mg/day in the modified diet, with a reduction in saturated and an increase in unsaturated fat to give a polyunsaturated:saturated fat (P/S) ratio of 1.0, whereas in the normal diet the P/S ratio was 0.1.
