Leaf lipids of the CoJ 67 were studied. Leaves without midribs contained the highest amount of lipids followed by midribs and leaf sheath. Analysis of the polar and non-polar lipid fractions showed that palmitic acid was the predominant saturated acid and oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids were the main unsaturated acid components. The polar lipids were fractionated by thin-layer chromatography and the fractions tentatively identified.
